Brief History
USS Brooklyn (ACR‑3) was a U.S. protected/armored cruiser built in the mid‑1890s and commissioned just before the Spanish–American War. She served as one of the U.S. Navy’s principal cruiser flagships during the 1898 campaign and played a prominent role in the Battle of Santiago de Cuba, helping to defeat the Spanish Caribbean squadron. After the war she continued active service on overseas stations and performed training and peacetime duties into the early 20th century before being retired and disposed of in the years after World War I.
Approximate Model Dimensions (1/350 resin kit)
The typical overall length of USS Brooklyn (late‑19th‑century protected cruiser) is approximately 344 ft. At 1/350 scale this converts to about 11.8 inches (approximately 30 cm). The Denny Pierson 1/350 resin kit will be roughly this length when assembled.
