Historical Background
USS Halsey (DLG-23/CG-23) — named for Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey Jr., DLG-23 was a Leahy‑class guided‑missile destroyer leader later reclassified as a guided‑missile cruiser (CG-23) during the 1975 Navy reclassification. Commissioned in the early 1960s, Halsey served through the Vietnam era and the Cold War, performing carrier escort, air‑defense, and show‑the‑flag deployments. By 1989 she remained an active component of the U.S. Navy’s cruiser force and was retired in the early 1990s after decades of service.
Approximate Model Length (1/350 Scale)
Typical overall length for a Leahy‑class/Belknap‑type cruiser is about 547 ft. At 1/350 scale this equates to approximately 18.8 inches (≈47.8 cm). (Calculation: (547 ft × 12 in/ft) ÷ 350 ≈ 18.8 in.)
Important Notes
NOTICE: Model kit does not come with a display stand.
If the product photo shows a completed model, your kit will arrive brand new and unassembled — ready for painting and finishing.
