    USS Halsey (DLG-23/CG-23) — named for Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey Jr., DLG-23 was a Leahy‑class guided‑missile destroyer leader later reclassified as a guided‑missile cruiser (CG-23) during the 1975 Navy reclassification. Commissioned in the early 1960s, Halsey served through the Vietnam era and the Cold War, performing carrier escort, air‑defense, and show‑the‑flag deployments. By 1989 she remained an active component of the U.S. Navy’s cruiser force and was retired in the early 1990s after decades of service.

        • is it equipped with Phalanx Weapon System. and can i get this model with Leahy decal ensemble. i served leahy, but cannot find its model any where

          The kit reflects the ship in 1985 after the NTU upgrade, and has the Phalanx system.  The decals include all the ships in the class.  We chose Halsey since that was the set of plans we were able to get from the supplier to make the kit, and this is the ship the model most closely resembles.

        • Does it have decals for other leahy class guided missle frigates

          Decals will make any ship in the class
