Historical Summary
USS Arkansas (BB-33) was a Wyoming‑class dreadnought battleship built for the U.S. Navy in the 1910s. Commissioned before World War I, she served with the Atlantic Fleet on patrol and convoy duties during WWI. In the interwar years Arkansas participated in fleet exercises and underwent periodic refits and modernization. During World War II she served in convoy escort, training, and shore‑bombardment/support roles before being decommissioned and disposed of after the war.
