History
The USCGC Cape Starr was a reliable and well-built buoy tender that served along the U.S. East Coast from the 1970s onward. Its primary mission was to maintain the proper function of navigational aids and markers, ensuring safe passage for vessels navigating busy waters. Additionally, Cape Starr supported the Coast Guard's mission in search-and-rescue operations and pollution control. The vessel was instrumental in ensuring maritime safety and was highly valued by the U.S. Coast Guard for its ability to withstand challenging operational conditions. Cape Starr was eventually decommissioned, giving way to newer and more technologically advanced ships.
