History
The USCGC Cape Shoalwater was a U.S. Coast Guard buoy tender that served along the Pacific Coast, commissioned in the 1970s. Its responsibilities included the maintenance of vital navigational aids, such as buoys and markers, ensuring safe passage for maritime vessels. Additionally, Cape Shoalwater was involved in search-and-rescue missions and pollution control efforts. The vessel’s strong construction allowed it to operate effectively in a variety of challenging environmental conditions. After many years of service, Cape Shoalwater was retired and replaced by more modern ships with updated technology and improved capabilities.
