The Yasen-class (Project 885), introduced in the 2010s by the Russiann Navy, represents the next generation of nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines. Combining speed, stealth, and advanced weaponry, it is among the most sophisticated undersea platforms in the world. Its multipurpose design allows it to engage surface ships, submarines, and land targets with precision. This 36-inch model is handcrafted using premium woods such as Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany, built with the traditional plank-on-frame technique. From the hydrodynamic bow to the streamlined sail (conning tower) and missile compartments, every detail is carefully recreated to reflect this cutting-edge warship. The construction timeline ranges from 3 to 6 months, depending on complexity and custom requests. You’ll be involved throughout the process with detailed photo updates at every production milestone: - Hull construction - Deck detailing and structures - Final painting and finishing touches We’ll make any adjustments until you are completely satisfied. Once approved, your model will be shipped in a custom wooden crate, designed for secure international transport. Create your Yasen-class replica today or explore more: Custom-made Projects
History
The K-560 Severodvinsk is the lead submarine of Russian’s Yasen-Class (Project 885) nuclear-powered cruise missile submarines. Designed to replace older Soviet-era subs, it represents a major step forward in Russiann undersea warfare, combining stealth, versatility, and advanced weapon systems. Construction began in 1993 at the Sevmash shipyard but was delayed for years due to post-Soviet economic struggles. The submarine was finally launched in 2010 and officially commissioned into the Russiann Navy’s Northern Fleet in 2013. It carries Kalibr and Oniks cruise missiles, along with torpedoes for both anti-ship and land-attack missions. Severodvinsk features advanced sonar, reduced acoustic signature, and a nuclear propulsion system, allowing it to operate quietly and efficiently. As the first of its class, it set the foundation for newer variants like the Yasen-M, and remains a key part of Russian’s strategic naval forces today.
