The 30-inch handcrafted model of the Japanese JS Sōryū Submarine (SS-501 Series) captures the restrained precision and quiet performance of the class commissioned in the 2010s. Inspired by the Sōryū’s air-independent Stirling propulsion, this scale piece reflects a non-nuclear design renowned for extended underwater endurance and refined engineering.
Each model is executed using the traditional plank-on-frame method and premium materials — Canadian red cedar, Teak, Mahogany,... — and finished to museum standards. From the angular bow and quiet-propulsion profile to the compact, modern sail, the piece is produced over 3 to 6 months with staged photo documentation throughout production.
