Brief History
- USS Utah (BB‑31) was a Florida‑class battleship commissioned in 1911. She served in training and convoy/neutrality patrol roles during World War I and spent the interwar years in fleet exercises and reserve at times as newer dreadnoughts made her increasingly obsolete.
- In the early 1930s she was stripped of main armament and converted into an auxiliary/target and anti‑aircraft training ship; many model kits (including this one) offer optional parts to represent this later “AG” configuration.
- Utah was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on 7 December 1941; she was hit, capsized and sank, and her wreck remains a memorial to those lost.
Approximate Model Length (1/350 scale)
USS Utah LOA ≈ 521 ft 6 in (521.5 ft). At 1/350 scale this equates to approximately 17.9 inches overall length. (Note: the optional AG parts change superstructure and armament only — not the hull length.)
