    Model History

    USS Sargo (SS-188) was the lead boat of the Sargo-class U.S. Navy submarines built in the late 1930s. Constructed by Electric Boat and commissioned just before World War II, she operated primarily in the Pacific, carrying out reconnaissance and offensive war patrols against Japanese shipping and naval forces. Sargo and her classmates introduced improvements in hull and propulsion that influenced later WWII fleet submarines. She survived wartime service, earned multiple battle stars, and was decommissioned shortly after the war.
