    USS Ohio (BB-12) was a Maine-class pre-dreadnought battleship built around the turn of the 20th century and commissioned in the first decade of the 1900s. She spent much of her peacetime career with the Atlantic Fleet on patrols, training exercises, and diplomatic cruises. During World War I Ohio performed secondary duties such as training, coastal defense, and convoy-related tasks. Following the war, she was decommissioned in the early 1920s as naval treaties and force reductions rendered many pre-dreadnoughts surplus to requirements.
