Brief History
USS New Jersey (BB-16) was a Virginia‑class pre-dreadnought battleship of the early 20th century that served with the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Built in the first decade of the 1900s, she spent her career on fleet exercises, training and coastal‑defense duties, and provided convoy and training support during World War I. Like many pre‑dreadnoughts, she was retired and disposed of under postwar naval reductions.
Approximate Model Length
Virginia‑class pre‑dreadnoughts like BB‑16 had an overall length of roughly 435 feet. At 1/350 scale, that corresponds to about 14.9 inches (≈37.8 cm), rounded to the nearest tenth. Exact kit length can vary slightly depending on the reference length the kitmaker used and any added bowsprits or overhangs.
