Model History
U.S.S. Milwaukee (C-21) was a U.S. Navy protected cruiser from the early 20th century. Protected cruisers carried an armored deck (with lighter side armor than armored cruisers) and served in roles such as scouting, showing the flag, overseas patrols, and convoy/escort work during wartime. Commissioned around the 1900s–1910s, Milwaukee-class vessels typically spent peacetime years on training cruises and overseas stations, and performed patrol and escort duties during World War I before being decommissioned in the postwar period.
Approximate Model Length
Protected cruisers of this era were typically in the ~300–360 ft overall length range. Using a representative full-size length of 330 ft, the 1/350 scale model length is approximately 11.3 inches.
Calculation shown for reference: 330 ft ÷ 350 = 0.942857 ft = 11.3143 inches → rounded to 11.3 inches. If you can provide the ship's exact overall length (in feet or meters), we can recalculate a more precise model length.
