Brief history
USS Iowa (BB-4) was a pre-dreadnought battleship of the United States Navy built in the 1890s. As one of the Navy’s modern coastal battleships of the era, she served during the Spanish–American War (1898) in blockade and shore‑bombardment operations and then carried out peacetime duties and squadron flagship work into the early 20th century before being retired from frontline service. Like many pre-dreadnoughts, she was eventually superseded by newer designs and removed from active service.
Approximate model length
Official overall length of USS Iowa (BB-4): 331 ft 8 in (3,980 in). At 1/350 scale this produces an approximate model length of:
≈ 11.4 inches (≈ 29.0 cm)
Note: actual kit length can vary slightly depending on manufacturer representation of bow/stern fittings, bowsprit, or display base.
