Brief History
USS Horne (DLG/CG-30) was a Belknap‑class guided‑missile cruiser named for Admiral Frederick J. Horne. Commissioned in the early 1960s, she served throughout the Cold War era, including Vietnam‑era operations and numerous Atlantic and Mediterranean deployments as an air‑defense and escort ship. In the 1975 reorganization of Navy hull codes she was reclassified from DLG‑30 to CG‑30. Horne remained active into the 1980s and was taken out of service in the early 1990s.
Approximate Model Length
