Model Specifications & Approximate Size
Arkansas‑class monitors were roughly on the order of ~255 feet overall. At 1/350 scale that converts to an approximate kit length of:
(255 ft × 12 in/ft) ÷ 350 ≈ 8.7 inches
Expect the 1/350 resin kit to be about 8.7 inches long. This is an approximate value; the actual kit length will vary slightly depending on the exact ship's recorded overall length and how the model's hull and fittings are measured.
Historical Background — USS Florida (BM-7) / Arkansas‑class Monitor
Arkansas‑class monitors were turn‑of‑the‑century coastal defense ships with low freeboards and one or two heavy turreted guns, built to protect harbors and coastal approaches rather than for blue‑water operations. A monitor like USS Florida (hull number BM‑7), launched about 1902, would typically have spent most of her career on harbor and coastal defense, training, and reserve duty, with limited short‑sea deployments when needed. During World War I such monitors were often employed in local patrol, guard, and training roles; many were decommissioned and disposed of in the years just after the war.
Model Condition
If the product photo shows a completed model, your kit will still arrive brand new and unassembled, just like all other Iron Shipwrights model kits. Kit does not come painted or finished.

Modeler’s Notes
From Felix Bustelo on his monitor build:
A couple of notes about this build - it is the Iron Shipwright USS Florida monitor kit which I built as the USS Wyoming which is what it better represents. The Florida's pilothouse had round windows and the kit's pilot house was the rectangular panes like the Wyoming's. The barrels are Steve Nuttall brass creations made at my request and really make a world of difference. The bow shield decal was custom made - I scanned the decal from the Revell Olympia kit and resized it.
