    Built in 1939, USS Navajo (ATF 67) was an Abnaki-class ocean-going fleet tug used for towing and salvage operations. At over 200' long and displacing approximately 1,650 tons at full load, these armed tugs were rugged, seaworthy auxiliaries used throughout WWII and beyond. This Iron Shipwrights 1:350 scale release is a one-piece full resin hull kit with high-detail castings and photo-etched brass components for outstanding historical accuracy.

    • After the war these tugs continued in peacetime roles—fleet support, search-and-rescue, and salvage—through the Cold War era before being retired, sold or otherwise disposed of as newer tugs replaced them.

        • In the Navy I was aboard the USS LUISENO ATF 156. Can I order decals for this ship?

          I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your service.

          Since this kit is of a wartime fit, the name on the stern would not be visible through the camouflage scheme. Thus, this kit doesn't come with any names on the decal sheet. The decal sheet with this kit is just a simple sheet of unshaded numbers.

        • My father was assigned to ATF 113 USS Takelma, do the number decals with this kit only inclute the Navajo's 67? Or will it come with 0-10, ect?

          That kit comes with the decal sheet 10-06, which has six complete sets of numbers on it. You'd be able to do any of the ships in the class.
