Model History
The LCI(L)-125 is one of the U.S.-built Landing Craft, Infantry (Large) series used during World War II to ferry assault troops directly onto hostile beaches. These vessels were produced in the early 1940s and played a crucial role in Allied amphibious operations.
This particular hull is noted as RCN manned in June 1944, indicating Royal Canadian Navy crew operations during the Normandy campaign. After the war, LCIs experienced varied fates: some returned to U.S. service, were transferred to allied navies, converted to civilian use, or were scrapped.
Approximate Model Length (1/350 scale)
Typical LCI(L) overall length ≈ 158 ft (1,896 in). At 1/350 scale this kit models a length of approximately 5.4 inches (≈13.7 cm).
