    Model History

    HMS Royal Sovereign was a Royal Sovereign–class pre‑dreadnought completed in the early 1900s and was one of the last pre‑dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy before the dreadnought era. She served with the Home and Channel fleets in the pre‑war years. With the outbreak of World War I she carried out patrol, convoy escort and coastal‑defence duties and—like many pre‑dreadnoughts—was progressively relegated to secondary roles (guardship, depot or training duties) as newer dreadnoughts and battlecruisers took front‑line positions. After the war she was decommissioned and disposed of, as was common for ships of her type.
