Brief history
HMS Bellerophon was the lead ship of the Bellerophon-class dreadnoughts — essentially an improved repeat of HMS Dreadnought — completed around 1909–1910. Armed with ten 12-inch guns in five twin turrets and displacing roughly 18,000 tons, she served with the Royal Navy’s Grand Fleet through World War I, conducting North Sea patrols and participating in major fleet actions, including the Battle of Jutland. After the war she was progressively reduced to reserve and disposed of in the early 1920s as postwar naval reductions rendered older dreadnoughts surplus.
