Brief History
HMCS Halifax (FFH 330) is the lead ship of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax-class multi-role patrol frigates. Built in the late 1980s and commissioned in 1992, she was designed for anti-submarine and general-purpose escort duties. Halifax has participated in NATO exercises, maritime security and sovereignty patrols, and international deployments. The Halifax-class underwent mid‑life modernizations in the 2000s–2010s to upgrade sensors, weapons and combat systems, reflecting their continued service relevance.
